A day at the beach, or to be more accurate, several hours.
The flotilla, consisting of three
boats, small, medium and large, left the dock at
approximately 8 o'clock. There were 25 of us
also, small, medium and large or more delicately
put, young, not so young and then there was me.
The morning was just beautiful, visibility great
and a calm sea.
The breakfast consisted of eggs, quiche,
bagels, doughnuts and all kinds of good things
including fresh coffee and juice. Rev. Gordon
said a prayer then we all sat down and prepared
to make piggies of ourselves. After finishing,
we cleaned up and headed for the ocean.
Everybody went into the surf except a few timid
souls, myself included. However, I did venture
out up to my knees and watched the others having
a wonderful time.
Too soon it was time to go and we headed back
to the boats. As you walk on the boardwalk
leaving the ocean and heading toward the bay, you
can see in the distance the steeple of our
church. It never fails to inspire me.
We arrived back in Center Moriches around
11 O'clock all very happy and grateful for some
special time spent with members of our church
family.
